What is 5052 Aluminum Sheet
5052 aluminum sheet plate alloy is alloyed with 2.5% magnesium and 0.25% chromium. 5052 has excellent workability, weldability, medium static strength, high fatigue strength, good weldability, and very good corrosion resistance, especially in marine atmospheres.
5052 is the highest strength alloy of the more common non heat-treatable grades. Fatigue strength is higher than most aluminum alloys.its slightly greater strength in the annealed condition minimizes tearing that occurs in 1100 and 3003.
It also has the low density and excellent thermal conductivity common to all aluminium alloys. It is commonly used in sheet, plate and tube form.
5052 isn’t just easily welded and highly corrosion-resistant, it is also tough and strong. It has good drawing properties and a high rate of work hardening. Its overall versatility, not to mention excellent value, makes it one of the most serviceable alloys available.

|Tempers H22 and H24 etc may not meet maximum tensile strength and minimum yield strength limits, but if supplied in place of ordered H32 or H34 all limits must be complied with.

What is the difference between 5052 and 6061 aluminum?
6061 aluminum is one of the most common grades of aluminum sheet used in the market. The primary alloying elements of 6061 aluminum are magnesium (1.0%) and silicon (0.6%). This makes it a heat-treatable alloy, thus stronger than 5052 aluminum. It also features high resistance to stress and cracking as well as good formability and weldability.
Due to its strength, 6061 aluminum is used in structural and engineering applications. However, 5052 aluminum is more formable than 6061 aluminum.
What are the differences between 5052 and 3003 aluminum?
Aluminum alloy 5052-h32 sheet and plate is stronger than 3003 and provides increased corrosion resistance in highly corrosive environments, such as marine applications.
